Visit our School Uniform Club

Our School uniform club is available to all to use every Monday all year round. Based at our Charity Shop at 69 Mill Street Alloa, FK10 1DX. We have a large selection of new and used stock on offer.  To become a member of our club, emailschooluniformclub@thegate-charity.org

Cafe Xtra – Picnic Lunch Deliveries For OVER 65’s

Starting from the 8th of April, we are offering delicious Picnic Lunches for only £5 which include a homemade soup, sandwich (various fillings available), scone and traybake delivered straight to your door!

This service is available to over 65’s however we may make exceptions depending on the circumstances, if you are or know someone under 65 who would highly benefit from this service then please message us and we can discuss). We also include a free welfare check where an emergency contact will be notified if there is no answer at the door.

The service can be set up so that you can receive the Picnic Lunch once, twice or three times a week and you can pay cash at the door or set up a standing order. The delivery happens between 10am-11am on a Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday depending on which day(s) you have chosen.

Donate goods and make a difference

Do you have good quality items that you no longer want or need? If you are decluttering or having a clear-out, please don’t throw away your unwanted items – donate them! We love to resell what you don’t want. Your pre-loved goods will help raise much-needed money, and every penny goes towards helping the most disadvantaged members of our community

If you would like to donate any goods to us, please take them to our shop during shop opening hours.

Where do I get a food parcel?

 

We work with various agencies to help support you with food. Main referral agencies:

  1. Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
  2. Clacks council housing
  3. Criminal Justice service
  4. Housing association (e.g. Ochil View)
  5. Homeless team (clacks council)
  6. NHS/GP/Health visitor
  7. Transform Forth Valley (TFV)
  8. CADS
  9. Women’s Aid
  10. School office

You will need to apply for a new referral each time you require assistance.

There is a minimum of 14 days between referrals. Each case will be evaluated on an individual basis.

 

Larder visits can be up to 2 visits per month with a minimum of 7 days between them & if you receive a food parcel.

 

How to donate?

 

Food donations:

 

Donate directly to 2 Ludgate, Alloa or at any of the following supermarkets in Alloa: Aldi, Asda, Lidl or Morrisons.

 

Items we always require:

Baked beans, soup, tinned meat, tinned fish, tinned curry, tinned fruit, custard, rice pudding, cereal, UHT milk, tea, coffee, pasta, rice (long grain/microwave),pasta & curry sauce, instant noodles, pasta with sauce, shower gel, toilet rolls, biscuits & crisps.
