Volunteer opportunities at the gate
We are currently actively looking for volunteers to cover the below roles. If you want to get involved but don’t see something that interests you, contact Yvonne@the-gate-charity.org for a discussion about other opportunities to volunteer with us!
We’re looking for volunteers who may be able to help maintain a clean and tidy kitchen area.
This would mainly involve pot washing, using the dishwasher, and drying dishes.
Our busiest day is usually Friday, between 12pm and 3pm, but extra help would also be appreciated on other days when we have catering functions.
If you are interested, and would be happy to be approached to come in and help when needed, please let us know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided.

Join our charity shop team as a social media assistant. Promoting our shop online and interacting with the local community highlighting sales and helping to raise funds for The Gate.
This volunteer role is ideal for someone who is creative, organised, and confident using social media platforms. No professional experience is required – just enthusiasm, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn! The role can be worked flexibly with hours falling between 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for friendly volunteers who may be able to help prepare the Food Van for Andy, our Chef, before he heads out to deliver food to different locations.
This would mainly involve restocking the van with food items on weekday mornings, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 10am.
There may be some heavy lifting involved, and there may also be opportunities to lend a hand with light kitchen assistance from time to time.
